Findings from Q3 2026 show that negative sentiment regarding daily life compared to pre-2020 remains dominant across most of the Adria region.
Over half of citizens report a worse standard of living today in Montenegro (54%), North Macedonia (54%), Croatia (52%), Serbia (52%), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (51%). In Slovenia, 45% see life as worse, while 36% report no change.
Kosovo stands out as the main outlier, recording the highest level of optimism in the region—35% of respondents feel their life is better today than before 2020 (compared to 43% who say it is worse).
